1.- Vehicle dimension indicator lights.
With time, and day-to-day wear and tear, these indicator lights get knocked and then crack. Therefore, they should be replaced regularly. Failure to do so leads to water entering and the consequent breakdown of the connections and may even affect the installation itself.
CHECK THE STATE OF YOUR DIMENSION INDICATOR LIGHTS PERIODICALLY.
2.- The vehicle dimension lights do not work.
Check the state of the bulb and/or make sure the connections have not rusted. Otherwise, contact your local workshop to have them checked.
3.- Internal lights do not work.
If the vehicle's internal lights are exposed to humidity it could cause oxidation. If they do not work, check that the bulb and its housing are clean. Even if all seems OK, still have them checked at your official workshop.
4.- Cold leakage through the rear doors.
Check that the rubber seals have not deteriorated, come unstuck or are in bad condition. In any of the above cases, proceed to their repair or replacement.
5.- Unstuck or open skirtings.
This usually occurs when pallets knock the skirtings and unhouse them. Should this occur, they should be riveted and gaps should be filled in using the right materials. The best solution to this problem is a visit to an official workshop given that any water and debris entering may cause serious breakdowns.
6.- Interior knock.
A knock in the inside causing a fissure should be repaired immediately. Such a fissure may affect the side, floor or roof insulation. The best approach is to carry out an emergency repair by sealing the affected area with silicon or a similar material. Then visit an official workshop so that they may assess the best way to repair the fissure permanently.
7.- Exterior knocks to the sides, roof, corners and front.
Take the same action as in the previous section.
8.- Truck-to-chassis anchorage.
You are recommended to periodically check the fastening of the truck-to-chassis screws. They should be tightened to 12 kg/cm2. If there is a lack of torque, go to your authorised workshop to have them adjusted.
9.- Trailer-to-ship hook.
Do not forget to check that the suspension is empty prior to lashing the unit.
10.- When buying a unit.
Remember that the unit you purchase will always be ready to carry out its function. Non of the calibrations need be altered. Take into account that if any alterations are made, you will be responsible for any possible breakdowns that such an alteration may lead to.
And don't forget that for any breakdown, wherever you may be, SOR has a workshop near you. See for yourself by going to the section on SOR Services.
